Achieve your resolutions now!
You can take a moment now to celebrate the resolutions you have accomplished in the past. No matter how you have struggled in the past, you there are many things at which you have succeeded. As you think about your success, you might start to notice the few things that all your successes have in common. Those are the secrets that allow you to drive your own bus, ride your own wave, see your dream and hear the beautiful melody that is your life.
Like you, I lived through these same things. I made resolutions that fell apart. I started projects that seemed important only to come up short, stopping half way there, or worse, just before the finish line. I’ve had to make myself struggle through hours of tedium ultimately not achieving the goals I had set for myself.
I tried different things: set a time to do this or that, make a calendar, list the reasons why you want to do it, tell your friends about your goals, keep a diary, track your success and so many other things. Nothing worked long term because I was forcing myself to do it. But some goals I just kept striving for, some resolutions that seemed so “who I am” that achieving them was automatic, almost magic. It’s like the goals just manifested before my eyes.
I thought about all those successes, successes achieved. You see, that’s when it hit me: the reason I was so successful in all those things was because I enjoyed doing the things to achieve my resolutions. I enjoyed doing all the things necessary. Nothing seemed like a struggle. I love the activity. The behavior was easy because there was no internal struggle of “should I” or “shouldn’t I”. There was no willpower needed. I did it because I wanted to and because I enjoyed it.
I knew some hypnosis and realized I could just create in myself the same feelings for the other things I want to do as I had for all my successes. I knew I just had to focus on my goals in the right way, in a way that allowed my unconscious mind to guide me. You see, in my studies I realized the reason I hadn’t succeeded was because my conscious mind was saying one thing and my unconscious mind was saying something else. You consciously want one thing, but you unconsciously want something else. It hit me: what if I could make them say the same thing, to want the same things, to help me, both together, to achieve what I want. I knew it would be magic: the actions would be as easy and automatic as taking a breath of fresh air, and the results would be as satisfying.
You see, if you want to lose weight, you consciously want to avoid the chocolate (that’s willpower), but you unconsciously want chocolate because it makes you feel good. And the unconscious mind always wins. If you want to become financially successful but have an inner belief that ‘rich people are jerks’ (which many believe), you will likely never become rich. If you want to succeed at work but think ‘I’m not good enough’ you will likely never get the promotion. It’s an easy equation once you see it.
I set out to discover the most effective ways to change what I think, the most effective ways to bring my conscious mind into agreement with my unconscious mind. I eventually discovered how to identify and create the perfect mindset (the perfect rapport between the conscious and unconscious mind) that makes it easy (and fun!) to create your own life, to achieve the things that you really want to achieve. I realized there is nothing magical about what I do. Anyone can do it with the right coaching, by really learning to use the most powerful tool for change of all: your own mind.
I look around everyday watching the unnecessary frustrations and struggles that people go through. I know the challenges, I know the struggles and I know the pot of gold that lies at the end of that particular rainbow. When I understood the real reason people struggle, I knew I could help them change their path.
You know that what you have been trying isn’t working. Year after year, you make resolutions that fall by the wayside. You’re not getting what you want. The reason is that you’ve been focusing on the wrong things: you’ve been focusing on what you do, rather than what you think. Thought guides action, but only when it is focused it the right way. There is an old Chinese saying that ‘a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.’ How do you make that first step? It is with a thought. So, we might say a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single thought.
But not just any thought: it must be a thought that captures who you are. Mothers carry their babies a thousand miles to keep them safe. It is not the first step that guides them. It is the inner voice, an inner feeling and the vivid dreams they have that keep them going one step at a time until their journey is complete. Mothers lift cars off their children, not because they are physically strong but because they are mentally strong, because they have the desire to do whatever it takes to keep their child safe.
